Motorola is gunning for Research In Motion, the maker of BlackBerry smartphones. The company’s latest Android phone is squarely aimed at the enterprise market, RIM’s bread and butter.
Motorola introduced the Droid Pro, an Android smartphone aimed at the BlackBerry market, along with several other Android handsets, at a Tuesday evening event in San Francisco.
Motorola introduced its now iconic Droid handset one year ago. Today, the veteran phonemaker expanded its Android smartphone lineup to 22 models, with five new handsets introduced today–including the Droid Pro, which targets the core audience for RIM’s BlackBerry in the corporate marketplace.

In this video I take a first look at two upcoming Android smartphones for Verizon Wireless, the Motorola Droid Pro and the Motorola Droid 2 World Edition. The Droid 2 World Edition likely will be nearly identical to the standard Motorola Droid 2 only with GSM roaming capabilities allowing it to be a world phone. The Motorola Droid Pro is a bit different as it will have a 4 inch display as well as a 1.3Ghz processor making it one of the fastest phones available. The Droid Pro also likely will have world phone capabilities and should be available in November.
