There’s plenty of world left for it to conquer. Everyone has gone through this stupidity once or twice, because Google is making decisions it should not be making. But don’t worry for Google’s sake. Google and earnings news helped move the market this week. In a new crack at a social technology, Google launches a service to review businesses and find what your friends recommend. Google just started Hotpot to gather more data to better understand its users (try to outguess you), and I’m sick of it. Google Docs liberated my data from a laptop with a seized-up cooling fan, but i was hardly an ardent fan. One new feature fuels my optimism. Google’s Street View has inadvertently found a new use – fighting crime! a Street View Google car managed to capture a photo of an alleged thief in Derbyshire, England, preparing to take off. Kayak filed for an ipo today, and the underlying financials show why it’s fighting so hard to stop Google from buying ita Software.
