I have owned a laptop computer now that may be considered a bit on the slower facet in comparison with the newer units. I have even bought a kind of new dual core laptops to switch this one. However I have to let you know; I still use my old laptop 70% greater than I do my newer one.
Even with this laptop being older I still feel it runs faster and smoother than my newer one. Why is this? It’s as a result of I hold it maintained and clean.
After I first acquired this system I loaded it with tons of software program and found that I only used a fraction of what I installed. The system slowed down a lot. It had to be these small resident reminiscence programs that run all of the time. They ate up quite a lot of my reminiscence and slowed performance. So I decided to take away a number of them. I discovered the arduous manner that while you uninstall lots of these applications with out going by means of the “add and take away” program part, you permit little bits of code in your system that will slow it down.
I made the selection to wipe all of it out and begin from scratch. This time though I had a plan.
Listed below are a number of the steps I took:
1. I chose which software program I used probably the most and would use on this system and only put in those. That stored those unused programs from eating up memory.
2. I set up a defrag schedule. I defragged my system as soon as every month (generally twice a month) to keep the files in order.
3. I did a virus scan of my system to maintain it clean. Very important to due this every few days if you’re downloading from the internet and browsing a lot. Adware and spyware can show up on your machine and you should get rid of it.
4. I did registry maintenance on a weekly basis. This stored my system running at it is peak. You shouldn’t try to do it by hand when there are some actually good ones out there to do it for you.
These are some fundamentals you can use to maintain those older techniques working like the day they had been new. I also advocate including as much ram as the system will take and you can afford. By using quite a lot of ram, you will give the system some breathing room. It will not have to use virtual memory as much (this slows a system down because it has to use the onerous drive to create this reminiscence).
You should also empty your Web cache regularly to keep your browser operating at its top. There may be numerous area being used up in your laborious drive and most of that stuff is just extra. The cache will help should you go to the same website typically, but with today’s high speed Internet it’s not as important.
